Sola recordando
Mientras los segundos van pasando
No sŽ como te podrŽ olvidar
Cae la lluvia en la ventana
Dibujando tu mirada
Un instante es una eternidad

(Alone reminiscing
As the seconds pass by
I donÕt know how IÕll be able to forget you
Rain falls on the window
Drawing your gaze
An instant is an eternity)

She sat alone, the memories passed through her mind like the ticking seconds. So many memories, how could she possibly forget everything? She wanted to cry, but she had to keep strong. She brought back the sweetest of her memories. When it had all started.

Hermione sat in the library, her head stuck in a book as per usual. She was so consumed by it that she didnÕt notice someone looking at her intently from a nearby table. She decided to take her book back to the common room, as it was getting late. She got up, and place her books back into her bag sighing. This was all she had now; Harry and Ron had taken off to find the horcruxes, leaving her behind. As her mind wandered she didnÕt notice her observer get up and walk towards her, she was startled when someone whispered into her ear.

ÒWhy donÕt your eyes shine anymore Granger?Ó
She turned abruptly and was met by a pair of gleaming silver bullets.

ÒMalfoy, you scared me,Ó she whispered back.

ÒAnswer my question Granger,Ó he said, searching deep into her eyes.

ÒWhat do you mean?Ó she asked getting lost in his gaze.

ÒYour eyes, Granger, they kept me going, they gave me strength. But they donÕt shine anymore, theyÕre sad, youÕre sad. I canÕt have that,Ó he said in a determined whisper.
She looked at him astounded. She tried to recover and snap at him as she usually would but was surprised at her own response,

ÒYouÕve never cared before,Ó she said in a croaked whisper.

ÒIt didnÕt use to matter to me. I use to be able to breath without seeing you. I used to go days without seeing you smile and not care at all. But not anymore, I need you to smile, I need your eyes to shine, ItÕs killing me,Ó he finished.

ÒAre you playing with me Malfoy?Ó her soft voice was desperate.

ÒNo,Ó he answered softer still, he cupped her cheek with is slender hand, ÒI need you to be happy, or bad things will happen to me.Ó

ÒI canÕt be happy,Ó she answered. She completely set aside the fact that she was talking to Malfoy.

ÒWhy not?Ó he asked with a genuine pain in his voice.

ÒBecause IÕm alone, I donÕt have anyone,Ó she whispered in the verge of tears.

ÒThatÕs not true and you know it,Ó he said, a sort of fiery gleam crossing his silvery eyes.

She closed her eyes and tried to think logically but found it impossible. Instead she nestled her cheek against his palm and let her tears fall freely, ÒWhy?Ó

She didnÕt need to explain, she wanted to know why he had tortured her all those years only to come and console her now.

ÒBecause I didnÕt want to need you. I didnÕt want to accept that if you werenÕt happy neither was I. So I tried to make your smiles and the gleam in your eyes go away, trying to prove that I didnÕt really need them,Ó he said firmly, ÒItÕs been a horrible six years,Ó he added.

She opened her eyes and stared deeply into his, she saw nothing but honesty, ÒMake me happy then.Ó

ÒHow?Ó he asked desperately, ÒMerlin, just tell me how,Ó he pleaded.

ÒDonÕt leave me alone,Ó she begged placing her forehead against his chest.

He held her close and stroked her hair, ÒI wonÕt, never.Ó

Estoy cansada de so–ar sin ti
Confundir la realidad

(IÕm tired of dreaming without you
Confusing reality)

Harry and Ron came back once in a while sometimes they got closer to a horcrux and sometimes they simply came back tired and empty handed. She told them about her relationship with Draco, and after much discussion they said they understood and called a truce with him, for HermioneÕs sake.

That had been five months ago, Draco and Harry and Ron had become somewhat friendly and he helped as much as he could with the horcruxes. But he had never left her side. Never until now, this was the last horcrux; Nagini. The only one who could kill her was someone from Slytherin, and Draco had volunteered immediately. Hermione had been furious, but she understood that he was the only one for the job. Now she sat alone, doing nothing but dream of his return. Sometimes she woke up and thought she saw his blond head resting on the HeadÕs common room couch. But the image always vanished as soon as it came. She was once again alone.

ÒIÕm alone, Draco,Ó she whispered to herself.

Y no sŽ si volver‡s
Para amarme y esperar
Sin pedirme nada m‡s

(And I donÕt know if youÕll come back,
To love me and wait,
without asking me for more.)

She had no idea where he was or when he would come back. If he came back. The thought sent her into hysterics and she tried to calm her self with more thoughts of him. Sometimes she thought that if he came back, he wouldnÕt want to be with her anymore. She was stuck in Hogwarts after her parents forbade her from going on the Horcrux chase. She was still innocent and ignorant to the horrors that she knew the war was bringing. Would he see her as a foolish child, like Harry and Ron now did? Would he expect more of her? Would he still love her? Had that love ever been true?

Si pudiera ser verdad
Ya no habr’a oscuridad

(If it were true,
There would be no more darkness.)

If it were true, if he really loved her, then that would give her strength. She thought of a bittersweet memory.

She sat in the HeadÕs common room, Draco had his arms around her and they stared quietly into the fire. Harry had just told him that Nagini could only be killed by a Slytherin. Draco had said he would do it, he was now a member of the Order and wanted to help the cause as much as he could.

ÒIÕm scared,Ó she whispered.

ÒDonÕt be, IÕll come back to you. When I come back IÕll have a free world to offer you. There will be no more Voldemort or Death Eaters. There will only be peace,Ó he said softly into her ear.

Her tears fell freely and he kissed away each one.

ÒPeace?Ó she asked, she said it as if it were something impossible.

ÒYes love, and when our world is safe again, IÕll come back and weÕll have a family and weÕll teach our children about equality and love and peace,Ó he said, his voice shone with hope, Òwould you like that?Ó

She took his face in her hand and placed gentle pain filled kisses on his lips, ÒYes Draco, I would love that,Ó she said between sobs.

Somos tanta gente sola y diferente
Amar es ir contigo hasta morir

(WeÕre so many people alone and different,
To love is going with you until death.)

She remembered this and was filled with a need to do the same. She knew he loved her. She knew she was doing this for her, for their future. It was then she made a decision. Her parents wanted her safe, but if she didnÕt do something to help this cause it was probable that sheÕd die anyway. Harry and Ron told her to stay and help the Order from the safety of the castle and headquarters. They told her that they were different people, that she was the kind of person that best helped by organizing and planning. She knew they had told her this to keep her safe, but she wouldnÕt listen to them either. She listened to her heart. She remembered what Draco was doing to expresses his love for her. She would do the same, she would fight beside him.

ÒTo love is to be beside you until death,Ó she whispered. She grabbed her wand and aparated to the only place she could think they could be.

Y no sŽ si volver‡s
Para amarme y esperar

(And I donÕt know if youÕll come back,
To love me and wait.)

Draco sat by the window in the living room of GodricÕs Hollow as Harry and Ron literally pranced around thoroughly drunk in celebration of NaginiÕs death, ÒDraco mate, come celebrate. You should be proud of yourself!Ó said Harry grinning like a fool.

ÒI am,Ó he responded, Òbut IÕm not about to frolic like a fairy with you two.Ó

Harry didnÕt seem disturbed by this at all and went back to his merriment.

Draco returned his gaze to the window. He had done it and now it was all in HarryÕs hands. But there was still the final battle to worry about. One more obstacle before he could be with Hermione again. Merlin how he missed her, he knew she hated to be left out, but there was no way in hell he would let her be harmed by the war.
Just then a figure started walking up to the house. He started to take out his wand but noticed who it was. With Harry and Ron properly entertained he left the house and walked out to the rain his pace increasing as he started to make out the details of her beautiful face.

Ò ÔMiÓ he whispered as he let into a full run towards her. He embraced her and felt as she sobbed into his chest.

Ò ÔMi, what are you doing here?Ó he said as he pulled away with look of worry.

ÒI couldnÕt bear it anymore, I had to see you and I have to fight. I canÕt let you go out there and fight for our future on your own.Ó

He let out a sigh, ÒI love you ÔMi, I would gladly put down my life for you.Ó

She shook her head, ÒNo, Draco, no. What good is a peaceful world if you arenÕt in it? Why would I care for life if you were dead?Ó

There were no words left between them. He kissed her ever so gently. She pulled him closer and deepened their kiss, she needed him.

Si pudiera ser verdad
Ya no habr’a oscuridad
Solo luz sin gravedad

(If it could be true,
there would be no more darkness,
only light without gravity.)

Selfish as the thought was, they only cared about each other. Since they were reunited the impending darkness of the times seemed not to bother them.
The final battle came and they fought bravely together. Harry finally prevailed over Voldemort and the wizarding world rejoiced, but there wasnÕt much of the wizarding world left to celebrate. Yes, the times were dark, but they had each other and to them the surrounding darkness was just temporary, it was justÉ light without gravity.
